The search bar not only allows you to search for certain subjects, but also to set up filters and save them for future usage. Click on the filter symbol right next to the search bar to set up a filter.

A new window will pop up where you can select a filter. More specific features will appear when you click on "Add filter ...". Please note that the database labels of the input fields are displayed here. So if you have set them equal to the export label, you need to know which export label you have used for which question.

Once you have selected a filter, the subject overview will adapt and your specific filter will appear in the search bar. You can combine multiple filters to specify your search.

If you want to save the filter for future usage, click on the star symbol ⭐ to set up a so-called smart filter.

  • First, you need to give your smart filter a name.
  • Second, the search query will be filled out automatically. You can also edit it if required.
  • Third, you can select if you want to share the smart filter with everyone else who is using the instance (public) or if it is a personal smart filter (private).
  • Save the smart filter at the end.

  • The smart filter will appear on the left sidebar ⭐. You can edit or delete it anytime.

⭐ To learn more about how to use the search bar, go to the bottom left side bar and select "Help & resources" > "Other" > "Filter & Search Syntax".

⭐ Hint: You can use configured public smart filters to pre-filter the visualized data set in dashboard widgets. Simply select the smart filter in the widget configuration pop-up. This allows for more powerful and flexible data visualization.
