Learn how to delete, deactivate or update collaborators.
In Step 2 "Access" of your study, choose the tab "Collaborators".
1. Deleting and Deactivating Collaborators
![]() | First, check the box next to the email address of the collaborator you wish to delete or deactivate. |
![]() | Then go via "Actions" and choose "Remove collaborator" or "Deactivate collaborator". |
A warning message will pop up which you will need to confirm again before the actual deletion/deactivation. Click OK to proceed with deleting/deactivating your collaborator.
Understand the details of deleting and deactivating a collaborator:
Deletion | Deactivation |

Collaborator cannot be reactivated for the project | Collaborator can be reactivated for the project |
Deleting a collaborator from one project does not have an effect on the access rights for any other project the collaborator has access to | Deactivating a collaborator from one project does not have an effect on the access rights for any other project the collaborator has access to |
⭐ If a collaborator of your active study/survey is no longer taking part in the project or you need to remove them from the study/survey, we recommend withdrawing their rights by updating the collaborator and deactivating them, rather than deleting them. |
2. Updating Collaborators
You can easily update collaborators at any time. Click on their email address in the collaborator list and a new window will pop up.
Now you can edit the access rights and user type. The name und email address can only be edited by the person themselves and are therefore shown in gray if not editable.
